Starting your career as an artist can be overwhelming and incredibly lonely. You will spend the first few of years of your career finding your voice as an artist, building a portfolio and learning how to sell your artwork. The best way to learn how you can make money from your artwork is to talk to artists who have already built their business. Every art business is unique. But hearing how other artists are selling their work can provide direction and inspiration as you find your own path.

That is why we have brought together three incredible artists for a new online workshop that will show you how to start your career as a professional artist. This three-part online workshop  will guide you through the process of building your career as an artist, provide mentorship and connect you to a community of other artists.

Meet the Instructors:

Nikki Cade is a Dallas area based artist, living and working in Plano, TX. She works primarily in mixed-media on canvas and unconventional surfaces. She graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Master’s in Education and also studied Interior Design at Wade College. Nikki was recently featured on Design*Sponge and is currently preparing for a new release of fine art globes. Her work is influenced by cartography, travel, and culture and is held by private collectors all around the world. Nikki’s live hour-long session will show you how to develop disciplined daily practices, take risks and create space to hold all of your ideas and inspiration.

Ingrid Sanchez is a London-based illustrator and watercolor artist who studied Informational Design in Mexico and received her Masters in Publishing in Barcelona. An avid yoga practitioner and instructor, Sanchez seamlessly combines mindfulness and art. Her projects include: distinctive watercolor images, logos and branding, and illustrations for blogs and print publications. Ingrid’s hour-long session will help you find your artistic voice, show you the ins and outs of sharing your work online and building a brand around your art

Jennifer Ou is a landscape painting artist whose work is based on her careful observation of the natural world. Based in Norfolk, Virginia, Ou started painting at a young age and derives inspiration from travel and getting a sense of place that she then applies to her oil paintings. In Jennifer’s hour-long session, she will discuss how and why you should built an audience, and how to market and sell to them online.
